Construction Coordinator

As a member of our construction team, you will serve as a crucial link between construction sites,ensuring seamless coordination and communication to facilitate project progress. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from small-scale renovations to large-scale commercial fit-outs. Your expertise in solving construction problems, strong communication skills, and the ability to read architectural, mechanical, and designer drawings will be integral to the success of our projects.

• Serve as the point of contact between construction sites (Runner) and the central office.
• Complete site set-up activities, including site documentation and preparation, completing virtual tours – training provided, contractor site orientation, temporary facilities, utilities, and safety measures.
• Assist in the coordination of subcontractors, ensuring seamless project execution according to permit drawings, schedule, and quality standards.
• Coordinate and supervise multiple sites to assess progress, identify potential issues, and relay information back to the central team.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, in-house design team, architect, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Manage documentation and paperwork related to site activities, including daily site reports, H&S reports, RFI’s, change orders, site instructions, permits and inspections.
• Maintain safety records and perform basic safety documentation audits.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all construction sites. Coordinate and facilitate the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and personnel to construction sites.
• Provide support to project team as needed, including assisting with scheduling and procurement activities.
• Participate in weekly/biweekly project meetings.
• Perform additional work and responsibilities as assumed or requested by the Project Management Team or the President on an ad hoc basis.

• Diploma or degree in construction or project management or equivalent working experience.
• Proven ability to understand architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• 3 – 5 years of Construction Project Coordination or Site Supervision.
• Proven experience handling projects valued up to $3 Million.
• Strong understanding of the OBC, AODA and OHSA.
• Knowledge of IHSA/COR Health & Safety Management program is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe and other drafting software is an asset.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Commercial interior renovations experience is preferred. Experience in commercial medical build-outs is an asset.
• Flexible availability when weekend or evening work is required to meet the demands of the project.
• Current WHMIS and First Aid Certificates are an asset.
• A valid driver’s license, Class G Driver’s License is a must. Travel to various sites/locations will be required.
